Wow is that club still kicking? I joined in '95, but haven't heard from them in at least 10-12 years, and no address change since then either... :dunno:

I've been a member for a couple of years, but never had any kind of notifications sent to me. I do occasionally get Sears offers via the rewards program. Not a good sign.

I was an early member and they dropped me twice. I have three Craftsman member cards and I only rarely lately get any emails and less yet, flyers in the mail.

Sears Craftsmans marketing has to be the worst in the whole USA!

We've seen their so called tool discount sales that are blantanly false advertisements with absolutely no tool discounts at all.

Their online website is a joke, if you can actually get a decent deal.

This isn't to say I don't have alot of Craftman tools I purchased from twenty to thirty years ago, as well as some of my grandfathers from the thirties and fourties.

I wish Sears would get a CEO who would kick the tool dept in the *** and get it on the right track: Marketing and COO!!!

I never get any mailings either. The really odd thing is, my WIFE actually gets a mailing once every 2 years or so and she's not a member. Whatever.

You can go to craftsman.com/craftsmanclub and log in to see the flyer. That always (err, usually) works. There is a promotion period starting tomorrow.

It's always been a bit annoying that you cannot look at that flyer online even one day before the promo period starts. I guess they are maximizing the chances you will go in the store and buy something at full price and won't bother going back to get the difference if it goes on sale the next day :dunno:

I've been a member for several years but haven't received a flyer in a long time. At least four or five years it seems like. I just thought the club was now defunct. Maybe it cost too much money to send out the flyers. Too bad because occasionally I'd see something in the flyer that would get me into a Sears store. As a result, I usually bought something. If the Craftsman Club still exists, I have no idea what it does in the way of offering its members any benefits. I still have my membership card. I guess it's a nice bit of tool memorabilia.

I have been a member since the 90's. Stopped getting the flyers couple years ago. Called them and they started sending them again. That lasted a few months then they stopped sending them again. Always get an email from them though.

I used to get their Sale Flyers, but I haven't got one in a long time. I honestly think Sears would like to drop their tools and hardware department, but they can't because there are so many Sears tools in the work force. Do you folks remember when Penneys and Wards had tools? They were lifetime warranty and I have some of each, so where do I go if I break one?

I've noticed this in store... probably 25-35% of the "As Advertised" sale stickers Sears uses have the same regular price as the "As Advertised" price. Not false advertising, they're clearly not worded as sale prices, just pathetic.

I joined the craftsman club several years ago to get a discount on something. I never got a flier or an email. Whatever you think about the tools, the company is pretty lacking.

I got a flyer last month, I think - semi-recently. Never had a problem getting the flyers.

Only problem I have is that the flyers always have the same **** in them, and never at all that great of a deal.

From a hand-tool perspective, Craftsman Club has sucked for about the last 2-3 years. Typically only has smaller "beginner" sets from the hard-line, which is never really all that much of a deal if you look at the mega-discounts on the huge sets.

Occasionally they'll run a decent deal one one of their "gourmet" wrench sets (Cross-Force (ratcheting or non) or the adjustable elbow wrenches, but never a GREAT deal like they used to (deals used to be on-par with the 50% off GearWrench set sales).

Plus, no more Craftsman Club calendar with awesome coupons in it. :(

I haven't received printed flyers in years.

Kythri, there is a Craftsman Club calendar this year. I saw them in stores. Costs $10 for non-members, $5 for members...

I'm done dealing with Sears, after my last two orders were cancelled, I have given up trying to order anything on special, I don't think Iv'e ever had to put up with so much BS excuses in my life as I have had to in the past month, they just make E'm up as they go, I told them to just quit with their pitiful BS apologies going on about 'we really are sorry'--your order did not process properly'--'your next order will have a 10% discount applied'--none of which happens in real life--they just reply with their usual automated script, I told one of their finance monkeys to shove it--as his/her apology meant Jack-never heard from this Turkey again-not surprised.

Funky, I hadn't seen them the last couple of times I wandered through.

Are they worth the $5?

they just gave it to me for free when bought something in store, and honestly I don't think is worth $5, at least I know I wouldn't have paid $5 for it, there's couple coupons in it but nothing crazy, $5-10 off here and there

and on this month flyer nothing really good other than the 3 pc pry bar set for $19.99

I've been waiting on those to go back on sale to pick up a set for my track box. I also see they havea pair of tool bags, 10" & 12" for $7.49.

Maybe I'll make a trip or order online and see if I can use another coupon anddo the store pick up.

Dunno. I said F-that and left them on the peg. Really, they should give these away. A couple of years ago I spent a lot using some of the coupons in the back. Back then, they were free for club members.

Also haven't gotten them in many months, used to be a regular thing but stopped somewhere along the way. If they don't want my business, that's cool too. :headscrat

I have been a CCM only sence 12 years and tried to buy tools that were on the flyer and they never had it out here. Have not revieved the flyer in 10 years I guess. Now the hand tool isle is about 16' maybe and only 1 to 3 things on a peg, if the peg has anything at all. I don't see anything else, very sad. So I buy stuff that is clearanced online or in store.

Are those Craftsman locking flex ratcheting wrenches any good? I've been wanting to get a set of flex end ratcheting wrenches after seeing the Kobalt ones at Lowes.

I got a few flyers last year but it wasn't consistent like with every sale period. I found that strange.

I just thought..... if they aren't making money, they can't afford to mail out flyers. If you're a club member & you don't get notification of a sale, how will you know there even is a sale?

I loved the Club flier. Most of the tools I bought in the 2003-2008 era were from that flier. When there was something I wanted, (e.g. Craftsman reversible wratcheting wrenches) I'd hold out until it showed up as a good deal in the flier. I got a lot of USA craftsman tools at 40-60% off. Good times, that.

I suppose I'm still a member, but it doesn't seem to be real thing anymore. Now I think it's part of some sort of "My Stupidly Named Rewards Program" thing. They should fire the brainparent that marketing atrocity asap.

Yeah they don't even issue you a Craftsman Club card anymore when you sign up. I have my old card & it's cracked, I tried to get a replacement a while back & I couldn't. They simply told me the Rewards card is the same thing, you get the club discount but you also get points for all purchases.

I remember when being a Club member & having the card was cool....back when Craftsman was actually cool & when even the cheapest little plastic tool box they had was made in USA (I was cleaning out the garage a found some small plastic boxes labeled Sears/Craftsman, all USA made).

Kind of reminds me of all the cool Marlboro Miles gear from back in the day except you didn't need to give up your left lung for any of it. :)

I joined a couple years ago, and always get emails. The deals are not as good as they used to be though.

You are 100% correct! The deals are not as good as they used to be though:sad:

I love the Craftsman made in USA hand tools.:rocker: I hate the China:eyecrazy: Craftsman hand tools.

Remember when they gave you 10 % off everything and some stuff had more of a discount but then it was only what was in the flier and that is when I stopped buying as much stuff from them. Sears better get their act together its not just the tool secton that is weak,my wife says the other parts of the store arent the same anymore either. Kmart is ruining them.

Thought I was the only one, I know I signed up probably 4-5 years ago and never received anything, then did again in the last year or two and again a few months back. First thing I ever got was an email this morning about additional 10% off prices that are higher than the sales they had last month.

I haven't got squat from them since they combined the Craftsman Club with the "shop your way rewards" ****.

I agree the SYWR program just *****.:eyecrazy: The old Craftsman Club was excellent. I did go in today. Darn so much of the Craftsman hand tools are China/Taiwan and I refuse to buy them. The only good point was Knipex (German):rocker: hand tools....very high quality at Sears.

The deals really are hit or miss. In the catalog they list the "13 Drawer 26 in. Ball Bearing Combo - Red/Black: Tool chest combo for $449. I bought the same setup for $319 two months ago.

I think the biggest thing with sears is working the coupons and other savings to your advantage. Online prices are always better than the in-store, and you can just order for in-store pickup. And then you can use the sears2012 for $5 off $50, or whatever better coupon code you can also find at the time. I pay for all my sears purchases with gift cards I buy at my supermarket which saves me 8% in rewards. And lastly you can use ebates for another 2% cash back. On top of that the shopyourway rewards add another 1% back normally, and much better with some of their promos.
