I checked Alloy-Artifacts but they have no listings for Craftsman.
Does anyone have or know where to find the meanings of -V-, =V=, -G-, -EE-, etc, etc? My thoughts are they are date codes but i've been known to be wrong before

chopper1,

Give Alloy Artifacts another shot; see "The Retail Connection". There are three threads covering early Craftsman tools. It ends with V-series tools.

Thanks Gary,
I checked out Alloy Artifacts again. There isn't any info on the V series sockets, only wrenches. My curiosity stemmed from the sockets two variants to the series and the fact that =V= had no serial/stock numbers nor COO. The set of =V= sockets I have are all mint chrome plated pieces. So considering their condition and no numbers, I assumed that they were fairly new and of Asian manufacturing and was trying to confirm it.
On a side note, any idea what the U-Circle sockets, T-breaker or extensions are worth?

chopper1,

Your V-series sockets are not new and were not made in Asia. The fact that your sockets have no model numbers on them indicates that they were made before 1975 by either Moore Drop Forge or Easco, both of which were good old American companies. Easco was acquired by Danaher Corp, the current OEM of Craftsman sockets and most of the main line tools.

I can't help you with the value of your U-circle tools. I can tell you they were most likely made by Penens (part of the Plomb/Proto empire) about 1944-1948, and are high quality vintage tools. Perhaps others on this site can provide some insight into the value question. I myself would hang on to these fine tools and interesting pieces of Craftsman history.
