I picked these up yesterday for REALLY cheap but couldnt find much info on these 2008 editions. Maybe some of you collectors can give me some insight about them.

Thanks for any info.

Value= not a whole lot. Probably not much more than the regular (non collector edition) ones in the same condition.

I dont think you read the fine print, it states limited edition. Question is limited to what? :p

ill give you money for them, you can keep the fancy boxes, they fit in my hand better than any ratchet I have ever used, I have a dual 80 and a few matcos and an Armstrong and this cman is still my go to

That is a great find, I would not collect them. But a little value due to them being a limited edition. I would rather have the speed ratchet.

Very cool find. I used to have some collector series toy tractors, when I tried to sell them I found out that if it says collector on the box, it probably isnt. I hope it is different for tools.

Most of those they only made under 1000 of the style. Who knows maybe 100 years down the road they might be worth something. Still cool to have though. I too like that ratchet style. They sold for a premium it seems and the blue ones sell for crazy stupid prices on ebay

I just bought a set of the standard USA (60 tooth) ratchets in all sizes with matching extensions for $99 brand new-old stock. That being said, I looked for some time and generally found the used 1/2" trading at $30-$60, with the higher end being the blue coated ones. I would take a stab at $50-$60 each, but have nothing to base that on other than what the standard model are trading at (selling, not listed for)

Some of the cheapest quality tools I've bought off Ebay were the gold-plated "collector" sets MAC used to sell. Brand new, in the box, they'd go for about half of what a used chrome version would sell for. Just because it's gold-plated doesn't mean you can't use it on an engine.

I do have a partial set of the 80th Anniversary regular chrome Thin profile series. I'm missing the 3/8". They are in my regular rotation of tools. Same as the regular sets just laser embossed logo so I can still use them. They don't have to be a tool box queen
