No experience with that particular saw, but lots with other Craftsman miter saws.
I would stay away from any Craftsman.

I don't have that specific saw but a similar 7 1/4" slider I bought as a more portable saw (my main saw is a large 10" Ridgid mounted on a stand) to do some small stuff in my basement and other areas of the house.

My impressions are that it gets the job done fine, but I wouldn't push it too hard. It has kind of a chintzy feel. The laser also really ***** on it, it is barely visible. I don't care too much about that though, especially for what I paid.

Bottom line, It is ok for occasional home use, but I wouldn't be trucking it around to job sites and expect it to last.

My father has it - works great for remodeling. FIL has the older non-space-saving design and same positive review. Mind you these are for the 10" models. Across the board the 7 1/4 models have poor reviews and feel as such in the store.

I'm no longer a Craftsman fan either. You would likely do better buying a high end used saw. I got a really nice Bosch compound sliding miter saw for less than a new Craftsman. It cuts true every time and has more power. I've been very happy with it.
