A nice day of working in the garage just went down the crapper. The drain valve on my nine month old 33 gallon Cman compressor started leaking. Ive drained the thing probably six times since I've owned it. Anyone have a suggestion on how to replace it with a ball valve? I'm guessing the HF compressor drain kit is not a good idea.

don't sweat it, its a very simple fix. i've always hated to drain the stupid thing because its so difficult to get at. i replaced mine last week with a ball valve. i used a 90degree street elbow, then 4" ******, then ball valve, then another 90degree elbow to point the air down. these are all 1/4" and you can buy it at home depot for cheap. you can also buy the more expensive brass versions and it'll look nicer. i just sprayed painted it red to match the tank.

I did the same thing as Maximus. Five minutes in a hardware store and you should have everything you need. And it will work SO much better than that piece of **** valve that comes on it......

Thanks guys. Did you guys replace only the small brass 'valve', or did you unscrew what the brass 'valve' screws into?
