I've heard the black hose is the good one, not to say the red isn't good I don't recall a specific review on the red one.

I have the 50' black, and it serves me well, but buying again I would get a Flexilla poly hose as I spend too much time fussing with the stiffness of the black hose.

If you run a high cfm tool that also needs some specific min pressure you may need to adjust the static pressure at the compressor a bit higher with a smaller diameter longer hose, but chances are its fine either way.

What's the diff between 1/2" and 3/8" hoses?

1/8" Sorry I had to !

1/2" is overkill for that compressor. Get 2 50'. You will use the second 50 if only to replace the first one when it wears out.

Goodyear rubber air hose is good stuff !

Thanks guys. I'll go back and exchange the 1/2" for the 3/8" and get an extra 50'! I heard the Goodyear hoses were good stuff and that they wouldn't have them much longer so I grabbed one.

Are the HF fittings garbage or ok? Significanly cheaper than Cman.

I don't know how all HF stores display their stuff but I found a huge difference between the ones in the bubble packs and the single ones in the bins. I have been happy with the ones in bins that you by as singles. The bubble pack ones leaked for me though.

I would recommend the Milton type V high flow couplers. They will make a noticeable improvement.

Ok guys, now I need to decide what to do. As I posted in the beginning I got the 1/2" red 25' Goodyear hose 50' long. I haven't opened it yet.

The other day I was able to order two Craftsman 3/8 in. x 50 ft. Heavy-Duty Air Hoses for $13 each.

What about using the 1/2 line to run air from the front of my garage to the back? I could use that hose instead of plumbing with hard lines.
