I have a 240 volt Craftsman Professional series compressor. The motor was wired incorrectly and burnt up. Craftsman does not offer a replacement. The model number is 919.165600. Anyone have ideas on how to get a replacement motor?

Need to get the specs off the motor tag, HP, RPM, volts, and frame (often just FR) to get a matching motor. Frame tells you shaft size and mounting configuration/size.

The motor on my Craftsman oil-fee gave up and a new motor was $300+. Not worth it in my opinion, so I bought a new and quieter compressor. Had no problem selling the broken Craftsman on CL for parts.

Leave it to Crapsman to call a direct drive oiless compressor "Professional". :lol_hitti

Better off just getting another, better compressor.

to Original poster , my motor is off a different model and for a single cylinder unit. many of the parts from the 2 compressors are interchangeable like cylinders, heads, etc etc.
I suspect the motor may work by simply changing the plate that holds the cylinders . we will need to compare some measurements .
let me know if you're interested

Find an electric motor shop, it may be cheaper to repair. If not they should be able to give you the specs for replacement.

I haven't got any pics yet, but I do have some measurements.

if they seem the same as yours I can get some pictures

the motor case is 6-3/8" lenght not counting the end plate that holds the cylinder or the back cover plate .

the back cover plate is 1-1/2"

shaft measures 0.670 or probably 17 mm

thru bolts are on 6" center across from each other

shaft extends 2-1/2" past rotor
