Hi all, I am hoping to pick the collective brain for some information on an older Craftsman Air Compressor. I have searched for the morning looking for information on the model, and am coming up light.
Recently I was given an older compressor, Craftsman model 919.721820. It is marked 2hp, 25 gal horizontal tank, 100 pounds max, and that is about the extent of the original stickers that I can read. The motor does look like it can be wired 240 or 120 based on the FLA as well.
All the Sears documentation points me to a 728000 model, but the parts diagrams don't match up to what I have.
The 919 according to the Sears Manufacturer codes indicate a Devilbiss make.

Does anyone have the same unit or know of where I can find some information regarding rebuilding (ie parts, or pump model numbers) or manuals? As said, I did search this morning and am getting nowhere fast.

Any help is appreciated!

Thanks,

Mike

What color was the original paint, green or tan or copper ? I am assuming it is oil lubed. Anything over 1hp came from the factory originally wired for 240V because at 120V you would need a 30A circuit.

In general, those things run for ever with almost no maintenance. Change the oil. Use full synthetic 10W-30 engine oil. Replace the filter pad with something similar. Run it. Hopefully the previous owner regularly drained the condensation from the tank.
