Wondering if you guys can help me out because I can’t find anything about this item number online. I was just gifted an old but in really good shape Craftsman 919.178110 compressor. It a 1HP 12 gallon and will do what I need it to do which is to blow out my sprinklers. Would any of you guys with a 919 know what size the drain plug socket is? I don’t have any and will need to buy one for it. Going to add a regulator as well as it doesn’t have one. Thanks

are you asking for the size of socket to install/remove or the thread size?
the thread size will be 1/4 NPT
the wrench size is probably 5/8 or 9/16

919 is either a IR or Devilbis per the list.

Sorry about that I should have been more clear. I am looking for the tank drain plug socket size. It is a recessed square. I want to replace the tank drain plug and install a brass valve to make it easier to drain the water. The oil is an external square and not a concern.

If it's a recessed square, then it's likely to be 1/2 inch or 3/8 inch. Basically the end of your ratchet handle or socket extension.
If it's 1/2 inch, you might need a 3/8" to 1/2" adapter.
If it's 1/2 inch, you might need a 3/8" to 1/2" adapter.
