Hi, I am new on the site and I was looking for a little help and also wanted to give everyone a heads up on something. Since I was around 12 I have always used craftsman tools, I am 51 now! When I was 15 I had my Mom run me to Sears to get my first compressor, It was just coming out in production and it had the new style CAC Devilbiss pump! It is an aluminum pump and I ran it for years over 22 to be exact! When it finally quit in 2002 I purchased a porter cable 60 gallon, it too contained this same pump. I am sure if you guys look at the pictures many of your compressors will have this same pump. I just want to let everyone know; the parts know appear to be pretty well gone for these. I have looked all over under the porter cable, and sears brand parts sites, and they say even the gasket set has been discontinued! They suggest I buy a new devilbiss replacement pump for $400 dollars plus! I figured this out when I was restoring a compressor for my neighbor! I am wondering if anyone has a good source for parts for these? Also on e-bay there is a seller selling a pump about the same size for $239.00 delivered to my door, it is a Schulz brand and I am wondering if anyone here has ever had one of there compressor pumps, or there compressor’s? Pretty disappointed in Sears they are usually very good on supporting their products! But not in this case! Thanks BoB

Well right now I don't have it apart yet, but the issue is leaking oil out the base gasket (bad not a little), and I think the front seal, which is back ordered! Says waiting for a date on the B/O on the the parts site. I wanted to go thru the valves while I had it apart, which also requires the head gasket and the spacer plate gasket. I have this exact same pump on my 60 gallon porter cable. It is a CAC-4003 devilbiss pump.

Pipster Thanks for the help that website also says the front seal is on backorder! I hope someone picks up on this and creates a aftermarket repair kit for these? The other picture from the sears pro site is for sure not the same pump, looks like the flywheel is also not included and not the same, I base that only from memory and looking at the pictures! Thanks for all the help! BoB
