craftsman coupons?

Does anybody know if there are some good craftsman coupons out there? Looking to get a new air compressor. The old craftsman was bought in 1985 and finally died. Any %off coupons or anything? I may buy at a sears outlet.

I had a 20 gallon craftsman that worked fine for my needs (impact wrench, cutoff saw, plasma cutter, etc.). It was quite loud however. It could handle everything except extended cutoff saw time. That's ok, I rarely use it now that I've got electric grinders and such.

I'm looking at the professional 25 gallon model. It's oil, so it should be quieter. Reviews mention the powerdraw, I'm not worried about that. I've got a dedicated 20amp circuit for it. A couple reviews mention other issues with it, but most are positive.

I know, but after reviewing the other thread on USA compressors, all the American brands are just too much $. My budget is maxed out at $350. I saw the Harbor Freight ones, but I'm looking for horizontal 20 or 25 gallon, so it fits under my workbench. There is nothing american made in that price range. Right now I'm looking at either the 20 gallon craftsman red one, or the 25 gallon craftsman professional. The 25 gallon pro is out of my price range, but can be had for somewhere in the 300's at the outlet stores. Same warranty applies as new. Does anybody know of another option? I'm slightly nervous about a used one, because of the unknown condition of rust in the tank. i might be open to going used, if its not too old. After all, my old compressor lasted so many years, i figure the new one will probably last for a while as well.

I just talked with someone who has a quincy 1220p 20 gallon compressor. it's old, probably 20 years old or more. It seems to be in really good shape. $300. Any thoughts?

I wouldn't pay $300 for a used 20 gallon compressor.

I actually have one very similar to this and offered it to a friend for $100 as it is used and I no longer use it. If you were closer, I'd extend the same deal.

I kind of have a hobby of buying and selling machinery.
A 20 year old compressor is worth $50 to $75 and no more
The tanks rust through and if it has not been drained every day or week it will be full of rust. They can blow a hole in the tank anytime. The tank will cost you $150 to $200 to replace.
Used compressors come up for sale all the time. They are not hard to find.
Even the American made compressors will have foreign parts. They all do.

I have an automatic bleader on my 80 gallon tank. They cost about $100 but it saves the tank and keeps the moistuer out of my air tools and spray guns.

I would not go with an oiless. If you want to run impact and air ratchets you will need much more volume than a 20 or 30 gallon tank will give you. The compressor will run full time when tool is in use.

If you just need air it will be fine. If you have air tools find the air rating for the tools and get a compressor that will run the tool that takes the most air.
CFM and recovery time really mater.

I forgot one thing. Sears does not print coupons. They run weekly specials. It may vary by store. Some stores are company owned and some are a franchise.

My old 20 gal oil lubricated Craftsman was made by DeVilbiss & had a GE motor (manufactured in 1998). I know they were made by DeVilbiss for many years. Are they no longer made by DeVilbiss? Of course not suprised if they no longer are.

I got plenty of use over the years more than most who purchase it. looks like new still works like new. I paid just under $300 I was in the Craftsman club and it showed up in a mailed coupon. not sure if they still have that club or not?

I bought the same compressor(or very similar) for my Dad 11 years ago, and it seems to be going stong, I use to use it alot when I lived at home, I still use it and it works great.

So, I watched the sears outlet website for a while, and found a black craftsman professional 25 gallon horizontal unit, oil, for a pretty good price nearby. Normal price was 500 bucks. Got it for $337.93. Had a sears gift certificates and a sears store credit, which brought the final total down to $275 with tax. Couldn't pass it up. It has SCFM delivery at 40 PSI: 7.2 SCFM, SCFM delivery at 90 PSI: 5.8 SCFM. I got it home, and it rolled under the workbench with 1 inch to spare. Perfect!
