Does the Sears near you have them in stock by any chance? If so, I wouldn't chance it and just go to pick them up there. I can tell you that I was in Sears about a week ago and they had the 8 pc. set but they were the older WF style. I actually prefer that style but still couldn't bring myself to pay that even though it's really not a bad deal. I'm just a cheapass lol.

I bought a 19 piece set from Epsteins about a year ago and the handle is different..........grey but shaped like the old black Craftsman Pro drivers. The ones I got say "WF" Western Forge...............I WAS NOT impressed.

The Sears does not have either type in stock. I don't care for the WF and was hoping for PR. I think the PR are older then the WF. One reviewer said all his came with round shanks instead of the slotted having square shanks. The WF version all have round shanks I think. Think I'll just pass until I'm sure.

I have Masterforce/Pratt Reed and I have Craftsman/Western Forge and I reach for the Craftsmans every time.

Pratt-Read is owned by Ideal, which also owns Western Forge, so its kind of all moot now.

My local Sears has a 14 piece set, an eight piece set, a four piece set, and individual #2 phillips and 1/4" flat blade drivers. All WF. I was also in the Sears Repair Center in Dallas which has a small showroom of discounted/closeout stuff. They had the eight piece set (WF) priced at $17.00.

Does any know, if I order these screwdrivers will I receive the Pratt Reed variety or the Western Forge Craftsman/Husky/SK variety? I want the Pratt Reed variety as shown. One reviewer said he did not receive item in picture. Shipping says 2 to 3 weeks and I don't really want to wait that long and turn around and take them back.

I'd bet on WF. Every one I've seen in real life is WF. The PRs must be rare.

In any case, those handles (meaning the WF ones not pictured) are really comfortable. They're nice and soft but still let you get good torque. When they get greasy, you still get a good grip. If the diameter were just a bit smaller, I'd probably use those all the time.

If you want to be guaranteed PRs like the picture, there are these:
