So I got this jointer a few months ago for a really good price. The only problem is the stand isn’t a cabinet for the chips can collect, and it’s just sits too high. I was thinking about shortening the stand but then I found a delta Rockwell jointer long bed with cabinet which is a better machine. So now i need to sell the jointer, but hate to loose the stand. What other tools have people used with these stands? Or what other ways have you used the stands? If I don’t find a good use i might sell the 2 separately.

You could mount two bench grinders, one on each post.

It's hard to tell from the pictures, but I believe that stand is for the lathe.

The mounts are specifically designed for the jointer and therefore not compatible with other Craftsman power tools. However, with some modification, that stand will work great with a woodworking lathe.

Edit: I just noticed the original mounts for the jointer are missing and has a piece of plywood instead. As a Craftsman collector, I would be looking to use the stand for something else.

Here is a picture of a lathe stand without the wood top, which appears similar to the pic posted above.
