Craftsman Drill Press Driven Pulley Help

I recently picked up a Craftsman 113.24580 drill press (3/70 mfg. date) and the driven (spindle) pulley is broken.

I can still use 3 of the 4 grooves, but would like to be able to use all 4.

For the life of me, I cannot find the pulley I need to get for this thing. I can only find pulleys with a keyway. Not splined.

Any help or suggestions?

You are looking for a very specific part.
Options...

Buy a new one of still available.

Buy a used one off eBay or from swap meet....etc

Buy another drill press for parts. One with other broken parts or missing parts.
Take the part you want and part the rest of the machine out for other people that need parts

Make the part, modify a blank pulley to have the splines

None available NOS that I can find. Edit: Sears #71089 (possibly replaced by 71090?).

There is one on eBay that might work (might!), but for $69.99 and it is starting to crack where mine broke, no thanks (seriously, a used pulley with a sheave cracking is work $70 plus shipping?!?!?!).

I think I'm going to hand the pulley to one of the tool crib ladies at work this week and ask them to find me one.

Or get creative in the machine shop and see what I can f-up. :3gears:

I'm just hoping someone here will stick their head in and have one or know of one for me.

So, I found a parts fiche for this and realized there is a set screw holding the pulley on. I might get lucky and only need to find a 4 step pulley with a set screw instead of looking for one with a splined bore.

I have a 4 step pulley with a set screw I don't need. What is the spindle size and do you know what size pulleys you need?

I'll need to investigate that matter more tomorrow. I already got one strange look when I hopped up out of bed to go work on "that damn drill".:)

Any help with the casting logo? The part number got me no where and I can find a pulley that is close, but taller (2 15/32" vs 2 1/8") from Congress Drives.

Approximate 2.125" tall with the steps at 1.75", 3", 4", and 5".
