Hello Vintage drill press enthusiast.
I've just inherited my dads drill press model 103.23140. In the process of moving the drill press to my house the feed handle broke. I'm looking for a replacement part. The part number is 27618. Any advise or does anyone have an extra?
Thanks for your help, Mike

Welcome. Can you post a pic, most of us don't know these things by the model number, but might by sight.

First off Thanks for each of your replies. I'm still trying to figure out how to post a pic of the broken Feed Handel. the handle broke where the Handle rod screws into the chrome wheel. the maroon Knob can be reused. The classified ad did have a feed handle but it looks like its gone now according to his recent image post showing a few odds and ends. I'll try Frank Lees thread.

I needed a part for my dad's 1940 Craftsman Drill Press. I Googled the model number and found the schematic for the drill press and a parts list and some of the parts were still available, but not the one I needed. This was 5 years ago. Give it a try.

These come up on ebay pretty often, the handles are much easier to find than some of the other parts. Or, depending on your situation, keep your eye out for a used matching machine so you can use ti to refurbish and then part it out.

Be aware that the early feed handles (yours) are threaded 3/8-16. Later feed handles are threaded 1/2-13.

Hey Guys, I thought i would give you an update on my broken feed handle. Problem solved. I was able to repair the broken handle by grinding the broken threads flush. I drilled down the center of the shaft with a 3/8 drill bit, tapped in threads with 3/8x16, then screwed in a new bolt and cut off the hex to make the handle the proper length to include new threads.
If anyone has any questions PM me and i'll try to be more clear.

Nice job! I am sure this will sound stupid to a lot of the machinists on here but I'm not a machinist so . . . .HOW did you drill the end out? I don't know if I would be able to pull that off with my drill/vise.
