Hello everyone I'm new to the form and semi new to restoration lol. The story goes when I was younger I pulled my grandpas old tools out of the shed and played with them over the years they degraded because of weather and my foolishness as a youngster, now that I'm older and can understand their value and worth to my mother because they were her dads I want to restore them so they look like they came off the Sears floor the day he purchased them. I'm looking for any info on paint schemes/colors acturate to the time period and model. Any color photos would be amazing lol. I believe I have the original motor that he bought with it model #115.6961 type CKBK11 and at the bottom of the tag it says C4 48. I noticed as i was cleaning the bearing caps the letters were red and the caps appeared to be black at one point. And the motor a dark green color. Is this correct? I've disassembled and reassembled the motor putting heat shrink on cracked wires as I went along. The motor runs flawlessly except for the fact the side opposite of the compactor start the bearing was locked up at one point and wore a spot on the on shaft where inner race of the bearing seats, and now the shaft has play on one end. Does anyone know of a way to repair this? I can weld so I'm thinking maybe find some steel tubing to weld to the shaft to correct the positioning of the bearing. If not does anyone maybe have the shaft they'd like to sell or a motor they could sell me? I'm going to try to upload these pictures I hope it works lol.

Very cool and your gramps would be proud your fixing up his tools. That motor number you found C4-48 is the year the motor was made so 1948. You also need to visit this site the guys over there will help any way they can.
