I think a double craftsman base with a Drill press and a grinder would make a nice setup, at least for me.
I've been looking for one for a while. Not a priority, just an idea.
I actually like my bench model more than I thought, so maybe it's better for me than a floor model. I thought I would miss the bench space. Turns out, not so much.

That's an interesting idea.

I know the drill press column and the pedestal columns are the same 2-3/4" diameters. I don't recall if I ever tried to insert a floor-standing drill press column into a pedestal base.

Now that I've already said, it probably would fall over!.
At least the way I visualize it.
Maybe If the drill press was rotated 90 degrees. Now it doesn't sound like such a good idea. hah.
But, maybe since you have all of the elements, you may give it a try.
