What's the opinion on these ?,I ended up buying the 176 pc set, are they trashy looking?
Some people like them, some people hate them.

After a few short years Craftsman moved from Easy Read to Dual-Marked. I have a set of the Easy Marked sockets, and they're decent. Not perfect, but they're usable and not what I would call trashy-looking either.

I just picked up a complete set. The outside is nice, but inside the wells is not so great. It's just an aesthetic issue. Doesn't have any bearing on the tool's performance. Also look a little thin, but if it ever breaks it's 100% covered no questions asked. That's the biggie. If you try that with Duralast, Kobalt or Stanley (and sometimes even snapon) you will be highly disappointed with the warranty service. Craftsman will never let you down. They're guaranteed to work for life so you won't have to buy those sockets ever again.

Also not a fan of the etching. It isn't going to last, I know it. They should've stuck with the stamped rollmarks.

As far as quality I think sometimes you can get a duralast set that kills the craftsman sets, but their selection ***** and so does their warranty service. Kobalt is making me mad with their crazy high prices and mostly 12-point stock, and their also sucky warranty service.

Maybe I don't like change, but I am not a fan. I'll take the old style, used, before I go with one of those. I hate breaking a socket and having to put one of them into the toolbox. That's when I hit the pawn shops to find a replacement.

I bought a set when they first came out, and some of my replacements for other sets have been this style. Overall I think they ****. I love the idea, and I love how they look, but the quality of the socket itself doesn't match my older stuff. The chrome is chipping off quite a few of them. Not only does that leave a sharp edge, but it's causing them to rust.
