So, the GearWrench branded ones come in a 12pc Metric set and an 8pc SAE set?

That seems odd.

It was definitely done for pricing reasons. I'm thinking that Sears cut out the sizes they didn't think people "needed" in hopes that the lower-priced sets (compared to KD, Gearwrench) would sell better.

I'm thinking I wouldn't want to buy a tool with "CHINA" stamped on it; that's probably why GearWrench chose to leave it off. I can't figure out why Craftsman would do so.

If I feel the need to but a "made in china" tool, it's going to be cheap and considered "disposable". There's now way I'm paying a premium for china tools.

That's a good policy, but it typically only works when USA-made alternatives are available.
