What's the warranty on the evolv sockets? Is it the same as craftsman? Somewhere in my mind, it was something like lifetime warranty with receipt?

It just says lifetime forever warranty. I'm assuming same as craftsman.

Never thought I needed deep metric impacts as a DIY guy. And then I felt guilty putting an impact on a deep chrome 17mm socket for a transmission mount last month. Gone this long without needing them, doubt they'll get much use. I'll probably lose the receipt before anything breaks anyway. Looked at the equivalently cheap HF deep impacts. One of their sets skips the 12, another skips the 10. Although I do wonder if I'd ever put a 1/2" impact on a 10mm bolt head anyway. $2/socket is about as good as it gets for a deep impact, even at a swap meet. Ok, done rambling.

For evolv, you have to keep the receipt for warranty, unlike regular craftsman tools.
Not a big deal for me since I keep every tool receipt in an envelope in my filing cabinet.

Pretty sure these are made in Taiwan

Nines, I picked up the 1/4" drive set we were talking about. I'm good with it so far. I do like the ratchet handle a lot. Very comfortable. And $14.99, can't beat it even at HF.

They are. I've had them for a few years and they're pretty good IMO

Nines, I picked up the 1/4" drive set we were talking about. I'm good with it so far. I do like the ratchet handle a lot. Very comfortable. And $14.99, can't beat it even at HF.

I picked it up too, threw the ratchet in my tool box at the shop though, I only use my HF swivel head in the junkyard. Happy with them so far, now I need a deep socket set for the junkyard.

That's scary around here all the ink disappears from receipts. Do I just bring in a blank receipt

I picked up there sockets. The craftsman name and the evolv name are painted on. Looks like it'll rub off over time. They stamped the size, Taiwan AE, and a 5 digit number on the sockets. I'll presume they'll be able to tell its an evolv socket based on the 5 digit part number??? As far as the proof of purchase, seems like I got mine in an email. Lol, it'll be buried in old messages that'll probably take me an hour to find if I ever need it.

I picked up the 5 pc short and 5pc deep metric when they were on clearance a few years ago for $5 ea. nice sockets, and I couldn't see any difference between evolve and craftsman. didn't save my receipt so if I ever break one, into the trash it goes...used to be you grabbed a new tool and handed them the old one, now they run the part # and are real sticklers...

I got a folder in my email box dedicated to Sears order confirmations, however for the Craftsman Evolv hand tools I also save a pdf file of the email in a folder on my computer.

A few months ago when I last checked, the Evolv's were COO Taiwan and the Craftsman China.

Evolv's warranty is NOT like Craftsman. You have to bring back the whole set, original packaging, and receipt.

Would it kill Sears to put 1/2" drive in the title, or even first paragraph? But this IS Sear's web site we're talking about here. This deal is tempting, but it's Cr-V and I'm going to hold out for a Cr-Mo set, like my Sunex 3/8 drive set.
