Craftsman fine tooth 1/2 drive

Ive taken this apart several times and see nothing wrong with it
teeth seem good but it just doesnt engage firmly.
Can someone post pics from a few different angles of the spring
Im thinking mine may be bent out of shape and is the cause of this.

Not really used to seeing those craftsman tri-wing non-thumbwheel round heads called a "fine tooth", as opposed to the Round-Head-Fine-Tooth ratchets, but I digress.

Ive been told by Sears thats considered a fine tooth and they no longer service them.
video really doesnt show the angles of spring I need to determine if mines bent or not.

Are you catching the little *** on the direction selector in the hook of the spring? It's very difficult to keep it on the *** sometimes when reassembling.

yes as always my eye is on the ***(s)
just seems like it doesnt have enough spring tension

What lube are you using? those don't care for grease, perhaps try something thinner. Also, those ratchets have sweet spot (not as sweet as the Facom palm control ratchet) you kind of have to tighten the setscrew all the way and back it off until you hit the right spot.
lastly, remember that those ratchets ****!!! so, there isn't much you can do to improve their performance.

I have a 1/4" ratchet like that. The ball spring is very weak. They will only give me an exchange rebuilt ratchet or a new tear drop China ratchet.
