Craftsman flea finds

I've got a couple 43784 ratchets, but none like this yet. Might have a rebuild kit done already, not sure, but appears to have a non chrome, long style reversing lever and -v- patent pending mark. Anyone else see this one? Better find, I think, is what appears to be a 8 inch chain tool with the nested diamonds pattern. Found a similar example on AA site, but mine doesnt have the makers mark and has a different craftsman tag. What do u guys think, good find for $10 for the pair? Gonna clean em both up and see how shiny they get tomorrow

The ratchet is correct as is. Craftsman sold those by the truck load back in the 80s/90s. I have a garage full of them.

The pliers are really nice and certainly the better find.

10 bucks for solid American tools seems like a square deal to me.

Interesting finds I have one each size of the old -V- but ALL the levers are chromed and not black. Must have been a transition period

My later models VL and VK all have black levers the heads are entirely different though

The ratchet has a rebuild kit. I have same one purchased as part of my first tool kit in 1980. Nice pattern on the pliers, I agree on wasting some time polishing those pliers. $10.

Got ratchet torn down, cleaned, an greased. Works perfect, I was kinda thinking it was a rebuild, but hadnt seen that style patent pending on the handle, so a keeper for now. I think I have a spare chrome adjuster I might throw in it to get er back to original too. Little pliers cleaned up nicely without too much effort and only a little oil. That ones goin in the collectable red/gray stack!
