That's what they told me......wonder what will happen when the SAE set shows up.

I had been waiting for the shipping confirmation from sears.com on the SAE set I ordered last week. Here is the email I got..........

Dear Charlie,

Thank you for shopping at Sears.

Unfortunately, demand for the "00947238000" that you ordered was so great, we do not have any more in stock. Consequently, we have cancelled your order for the item. A credit has been issued for $17.05 on sales check number 093001443581 for the out of stock item. We apologize for any inconvenience.

As per our records $2.74 in points will be credited to SYWR account within 7 to 10 business days and $14.31 will be credited to your credit card within 3-5 business days.

If you have any questions, please contact your financial institution after that period to verify receipt of the credit to your account. Please note, your financial institution may have processing guidelines for posting credits that may impact the time it takes for the credit to be reflected in your balance. There are a few SAE and Metric sets here if anyone wants me to pick them up some. The price on the shelf is normal but the web says $19.99 and "x" in stock for 70819 Cortana store.

doesn't matter what the web says, unfortunately. i ordered 6 things last night. today when i went to pick them up, the guy brought me 1 item - said the rest was out of stock and i'd have to wait for another email, etc... I walked over to the tool section and picked the other 5 items off the shelf, walked back and he wouldn't let me take them because he couldn't override the computer.

OMFG!

What an retard
He just didn't know how to use the comp.
I would have just bought them right there and returned them with that receipt when the others came in...
AND told him I was going to do it just to agitate him:willy_nil

You can buy them online, AND then select what store you want to pick them up at, from their inventory.

Or go back when someone of more authority is there.

pick up at store works best.

ive never found too much authority at sears. its what the computer says because they either dont know how to work the system or dont want to.

Or are instructed NOT to, even if they can. Remember Mr. Lampert has to keep trumpeting his online sales and rewards system. Can't very well do that if things are overridden in store and purchased that way.

Same thing happened to me a while back.

Ordered two extendable magnetic pick-up thingy's and when I went to pick them up, the guy came out with one -said they were out of stock. I said no problem, you've got some hanging in the tool section. He said "no can do" and refunded my money rather than sell me one that was hanging on the rack.

Another time I ordered a pair of mechanic's gloves. Turns out they run small. Went back to exchange them for for a larger size. Grabbed them off the rack and took them up to the counter. Same story. Gave me my money back rather than exchanging them for the correct size. Walked out shaking my head.

Sheer lunacy!

I was in HD and looked at the Husky open ended wrenches and they have the "lobster claw" too like the Craftsman. I will say the finish on the Husky wrenches are pretty damn nice though.

The husky are nicer and less clawish but are not long patterns. The lobster on the craftsman is really bad. I thought i read somewhere that they were doing away with the lobster design for all craftsman because of people complaining and thats why they went back to normal on the raised panels. They could be trying to get rid of them to come back out with a non lobster design.

I'm sure the reason for the "lobster claw" is because of weaker steel so they beef it up with the lobster claw for strength. Going back to the old design would mean they would need to use better quality steel. This is just my own personal theory.

It makes sense. Mke peole buy them for 19.99 because it wi be the only way to sell them. Bring ou non lobster and current stock will have dust all over them. Not sure wht I want to do with mine, I didn have but 2 ses of metrics. I like to have 3 of everyhing lol
