Standard, 9 piece set: 42738
Metric, 9 piece set: 42739

They rang up as $39.97 each instead of $59.99. Craftsman Club discount of 15% applies! Both sets cost me $78 total.

What I was thinking of buying was the 28 piece combo set for $170 once it went on sale again, but there are too many sizes that I just wouldn't need anytime soon.

Anyways, craftsman club is still valid tomorrow. I wouldn't recommend going out of your way to Sears, but in the next few weeks, if you're there, stop and ask for a price check!

Both are showing full price for me online, maybe its just the store you were in?

My local Sears had a pile of both the SAE and metric polished combination wrench sets in the clearance section for 39.97 as well.

I think that most likely happening is that they're coming out with new packaging, or maybe changing it up from 9 piece sets to 8 piece sets or something like that. I'm going to check back in a few weeks, but most stores don't carry too many of these sets. Wait too long, and they'll either be sold out, or reduced to so low of a price that they're recalled to the warehouse to be separated or repackaged into other sets.

Full price at mine. I went over and got a set of the sale pry bars and spent about 30 minutes looking around. I have a set of the Pro metric combination wrenches and have been using them this past week to try them out. There were a lot of things on sale, but nothing worthwhile on clearance.

I was at Sears yesterday, and they still had these wrenches on "secret clearance." They advertised price is still $59.99, but they ring up lower.

The new price is $23.
