I have both sets of these and they are pretty decent quality. Not tool truck quality obviously but great for weekend wrenchers. Only wish i was able to pick up at this price.....

One thing that I dislike about this set is the head on the open end. I took a look at them in the store. It is way too thick. When the raised panels were transitioned to China for manufacture, they were made this same way, but over time they were changed to match the dimensions of the old USA models. If you put them side by side you quickly notice the difference.

I suspect once these polished versions sell out of this old open end style, they will transition to the smaller open end head and I would say they are excellent.

We have those, and yes, the open-ends are a bit thick, but I have not hit a problem yet.
The new ignition wrenches are stamped (Good quality) and are not as nice as the old forged ones. (They do the job just fine).

The set is basically the 14 piece set plus the ignition wrench set.

I have seen the 11 to 14 piece sets as low as $20 but usually in-store and not consistent between stores (like a managers special).
I have also seen the ignition wrenches for as low as $10, but rare.

If you need them, a good price, but not a "Go-Get-Em" bargain

I wouldn't count on this. The RP design was quickly modified after they went overseas, and most of those old stock has long been depleted. These full polish ones were outsourced first, and still have not been updated to the thinner open-end design. Sooner or later they might update it, but I wouldn't hold your breath.

^ ^ ^ Agree. You have to . . . "Tolerate" . . the lobster claw if you think these are a bargain.
