Wow...this price has really dropped. Unfortunately, it says that none are available for shipping. It also says that none are available within 300 miles from me for store pickup. So, this may not be a hot deal at all if there are none available, but I thought I would post it anyway in the event that it shows some for store pickup near somebody.

http://www.sears.com/craftsman-clos...0935079000P?prdNo=22&blockNo=22&blockType=G22

Don't know if the VISA $35 off $300 thing will work, but if so, now you're at $273!

Hope somebody can score one...

It gave me the option to have it shipped to my local Sears store - in 9 to 11 days. I took that option.

That's great. Heck of a deal. I can't select "Ship". It says that the "item is currently out of stock for shipping". The conspiracy theorist in me wonders if it is because I have a "shopyourwayMax" free shipping deal, and they don't want to pay to ship the nearly 100lb package to me?

If I try "Store Pickup", there are no stores within 300 miles of me that have stock. Perhaps there is a warehouse near you that has stock, so they allow the purchase? Whatever...glad you got the deal. If I didn't already have about 1/2 the contents of that kit, I'd be taking extraordinary measures to obtain one... :)

EDIT: I stuck in a Cleveland zip code and was able to "ship-to-store" then like PeterT. So, other areas may work. If anyone in the Cleveland area wants one, this is a great deal for 3/4" drive stuff and BIG wrenches. (I'm in Denver area=no dice)

I don't need this set, I just loaded up on the 3/4 instuff over the past couple weeks. Heck, outside of working on my skidsteer and tractor, I don't see ever needing 3/4 inch stuff. But seeing how its made in USA, in 10 years that will be unheard of,, I gotta get it.

If you have a discover card, and use the "shopdiscover" link to sears through the discover card website, it used to be 5% cashback. I haven't used it lately to know if it still works.

I tried that code, it didn't work. details say it doesn't apply to closeout items.

Good to hear it's working for some folks. Maybe it's dependent on the location where you will be picking up the item.

It's worth trying to use it. Everyone should try. I'm just pointing out, if it doesn't work, that's likely why.

I wonder why it works some of the time. FWIW, I'm trying to use it, but on a different closeout set than this one.

There are two sets left in stock at the Herndon, VA Sears Hardware for anyone interested. I picked one up this morning. Also, Visa $35 off $300 worked for me, out the door for $291...

Nch209,
Once you've made your purchase (or decided not to), please post your general location. It will let others know that there might be a set still available in their area.
Thanks,
Chris

I have no real use for it now, but grabbed 1 of 2 from Herndon, VA. I figure I'll "sleep" on it and decide whether to keep it for down the road or can simply return it. I paid $321 as I don't have a visa and my one day coupon wouldn't work.... Still prob fair price. It's heavy, that for sure!!!!! (I may try calling to get coupon discount!)

I got my email notification from my local sears. I went today to pick up the two HD sets I orderd.
Man, this set is massive. Each box was well over 100lbs of tools.
All USA and all BIG.

I am going to hold on to both sets and in a few years, when everything is CHINESE,, I will piece it out and make a few bucks on Ebay.

I like your style! Lol! I picked up a set just because it was a heck of a deal, but it also had duplicates of wrenches so I am selling my doubles on the 'bay. When you buy a set like this and start reducing its price by $15 here, and $10 there, it makes for one AWESOME DEAL!

I showed it to a mechanic friend, and he was busting my guts about how BIG the stuff is, and that I will never use it. He is right on both accounts now, but I could see myself needing this down the road, and when I told him the price, let just looked at me.... and I think he wanted a set! LOL!

I cant see going wrong when prices are this low. :rocker:

The trouble with that is the trend. The quality of the Chinese stuff is improving. The quality of the USA made stuff is declining. Both have been trending that way for years. Unless something changes, it won't be long before the higher quality stuff is the Chinese stuff.

I don't see that happening anytime soon. Craftsman USA will be vintage within a few years. The chinese will be making almost all tools for the homeowner. The economy will get better and collectors will be willing to buy them. If not, I got some really big tools for a great price.

Snap on are too expensive for the average home owner. I was at an auction over the weekend, and the snap on box/open end wrench sets (I think like 12 wrenchs) were going for $250.
Thats too expensive

If anyone has these available locally and would go through the hassle of shipping me one, I'm willing to pay for the set, $25 for your efforts, and the shipping costs.

Cheers to the lucky guys who got one (or two)!

Ok, so I am a pinch jealous...those that got these the last few days CHEERS!

I bought this online last month or so and had it shipped to Denver...about $465 I paid. That was a good deal and I'd do it again...but man, saving almost 2 bills would have been SWEET!!!

I noticed you can STILL have this as a "free store pickup" if in the Cleveland area. At $300 I would buy 2 at least.

Has anybody been successful picking these up in the Cleveland area? I'm headed down that way in a couple of weeks and might try to order a set or two.

I don't understand why they have in store pickup, but not shipping.

These sets are almost never in store inventory, if you order it for store pickup, it has to be shipped to the store. If it's available to ship to the store, why not just ship it anywhere it is ordered?

I checked online over 20 stores in Ohio and all were available to have this set shipped there. I couldn't agree more though, why the hell they can ship to Ohio stores but nowhere else. Makes no sense at all. I had mine shipped to the doorstep in Denver at the end of June...paid a hundred or two above the current sale price, but still an awesome value as far as I'm concerned and honestly, I'm more happy I got it than dissappointed I paid a little more than if I'd waited.

If you can find the set it is down to $305. and change.
I have tryed all of california, Indiana, Ohio, Michaga, PA and Flordia with no results. It comes up noe avalable. I will try my freind who is the manager at sears tomorrow. I don't need it but my sons and grand sons do. That makes 7 sets if I can find them. One son owns a small fleet of trucks and does cross country hauling. One grnadson works for Penksi trucking. Did I find this late. Such is life.

Just an fyi for those looking- it isn't just Ohio. I'm in Pittsburgh, PA 15236 now (leaving tomorrow, unfortunately) and all of thee sets show free store pickup in 5-11 days. It looks like every store within 300mi is that way.
