I noticed that the Craftsman Holiday Tool Guide is up on the Sears site now. Lots of new things for the Craftsman tool lover. I noticed flare nut crowfoot wrenches, slip joint long nose pliers, a montezuma type top chest for craftsman rollaways, modular tool sets, and lots of other tools. Happy Holidays:beer:

You can even buy a Snap on flashlight on page 40.

Bit soon for the Christmas holidays stuff isn't it?
Halloween stuff was all out on shelves in mid-August.

Hmm... new yellow BB storage. They've had a few new colors for a while (such as sunburst orange) but not available in-store anywhere.

I don't see the other new tools/chests that you're talking about.

Madness. It'll be about 3 weeks before any halloween stuff appears on the shelves here.

Now days Christmas stuff is on the shelves by October. There was a time in my youth when it didn't hit the shelves until Thanksgiving but, those days are gone. This way you have more time to identify those must have gifts and more importatntly, find the money to get them.
I think I liked the holidays more when they weren't pushed so early though.

Ah, I see some of the new products.

IMHO, the Cman chests are just rebadged Montezumas.

Cman
Montezuma

Holiday guides are going to start being posted early b/c retailers are desperate to make up for months of slow sales.

Those T handle nutdrivers are neat. I remember someone (Billy?) started a thread about them last week, something I'm considering getting.

The flarenut crows feet are on my wishlist too. I just want a set of SAE and metric crows without the additional wrenches. I already own a set of the Cman fully polished flarenut wrenches in both, plus the regular raised panel I bought several years ago.

When I first saw the skeleton decal I had no idea how it was related to tools, but then I got a closer look and thought it was pretty cool.

No, but there is a link to order one on the opening page.

thanks

Do you remember participating in a survey to choose the cover of a Sears catalog? I wonder if this is the one.

I got an email a few months ago that presented different cover options and asked me to give my opinion on them.

WAIT A SECOND!!

I want those hemostats as well!! There's absolutely no details about them anywhere though. =(

BTW, there's a 30% off GW sale curently so those hemostats are $35 (if you don't include tax or shipping).

I just might bite!

I get a feeling the next 50% GearWrench sale is going to really hurt my wallet.

I've actually used a LOT of really long hemostats, the X is nice, but I am usually grabbing something small so the handles don't need to open that much anyway. I think just the pliers will be plenty for me.

I have regular hemostats as well, and my main problem with them is that they're too short for certain tasks, such as removing/replacing jumpers from a computer motherboard. Regular double-x pliers are too bulky and thick, regular hemostats are too short.

These look perfect!

One of my 5th graders was wearing a Craftsman t-shirt with the "tool skeleton" the other day. There is hope for the future!

lol. Everyone else calls them hemostats, I wonder why HF can't/won't.

They are not hemostats, although they walk and talk like hemostats.:bounce:

I think a true hemostat may be surgical grade steel that withstands autoclaving, and the tooth pattern may be different to prevent injury to the blood vessel. We have used large hemostats like that in the OR. You sometimes do need a hemostat that long when you're in the thorax or abdomen.

I don't have any experience with the HF ones, but I do remember that they were HUGE. I think they were made in India.

I like the new c-man pro pliers they feature in the catalog. There is a long-nose slip joint, and what I really want is the long nose arc-joint. I really needed one of those Sunday while disconnecting a washing machine water supply hose.

The new tool modules look like a great deal, too. Lots of variety, although there are still socket and wrench omissions which really bug me.

Sears definitely has some nice tools at some good prices BUT lately I have noticed when the "great deals" are offered the item is rarely in stock. What a joke.

When the sale if off the item may become available. I know rainchecks are offered on most items, but that is an inconvenience.

Hope you get what you want at the price you want to pay.
