Craftsman horizontal bandsaw

Heading out o pick up this tomorrow. It BELONGS in my garage. I'm not familiar with it so if you spot anything let me know. Ill.post more pics when I get it home. I'd like to document this one (with input from you guys along the way) because I haven't seen much on rebuilding on of these. Thanks

I have a similar one. Check the drive gears, they are a but fragile. Also check that the hydraulic down feed works smoothly.

The adjustable roller guides. Neither one of them spin freely. Same on the other side.

Down feed assembly. Seems complete. Small screw on the top is there just out of frame. Don't really have time to see if it functions as it should today. It'll have to wait for the weekend

Motor. Not familiar with it. American made though. Judging from the size it's probably 1/3 or 1/4 hp.

Model # on the saw is 108.22920. 1960s? From what I've read some were equipped with roller bearings and others with solid.

Assuming it's the same company Rheem sells water heaters these days. I didn't know they sold motors in the past.

There are several variations and two manufactures of that saw. Those with a 101. prefix were made by Atlas, those with a 108. prefix were made by Covel. Both are good saws. Mine is the same model as yours. The motor has clearly been changed over the years, but so long as it runs the right direction and speed, it should be fine.
