I thought I saw a post here about a Craftsman Impact driver (one of those tools that you whack with a hammer to loosen fasteners).

Does anyone have the part number on what I'm supposed to order or the post that raves about the item? Also, where is the best place to monitor Craftsman coupons or sales?

Thanks
Rog

Thanks. And the best place to look for coupons, discounts, etc? If I sign up for Craftsman emails, they'll give a $5 coupon.

Just join the Craftsman club. You'll get some o.k. deals every month.

As far as those impact drivers go, I have found they are all pretty much the same except for the bits. Try Napa. They have one that is equal to Craftsman.
It sells for $10 less than the Craftsman.

edit.. oops sorry about that. It seems the Napa one is $10 cheaper at MY store.

NAPA, Lisle, a decent impact driver doesn't need to cost much, and nothing special I know of about the Craftsman.

Napa in my area is $8 more expensive than Sears, and that doesn't take into account the $5 Craftsman coupon that they offered me.

Thanks though.

I have it, no complaints. If I'd known it was made by Lisle I would have saved a few bucks and bought their version.

Spend your money on quality bits, I've used drivers ranging from buffalo to snap on, and theres not much of a difference.

I've used them from So to HF and have to say they all get the job done. Although the bits vary widely in quality and the cheapo's mushroom a good bit after heavy use and require dressing with a file or grinder.

You could also post in the classifieds wanted section here.

Agreed!

Heck, I use a OLD Mac one, and I just used a new Snap-on the other day. Couldn't tell a difference...

Hiball nailed it! It's all about the bits, and using fresh ones. Even Snap-on ones wear out...
