Hard to believe this much stuff is being taken, almost has to be an inside job. Maybe someone is turning there back and purposely not seeing it. Maybe an employee is dumping returns and pocketing some money. None of the wrenches or ratchets are in the packaging. They're just zip tied together. I have seen people around here pawn stuff for ridiculous amounts. I saw a guy pawn his kids scooter for $2.00 one time. He told his wife they would tell their son it was stolen because he left it in the yard. I don't think $2 will get a hit of meth or anything else. All kinds of wrong there.

I don't sell a lot of tools either. I buy a lot thinking I might flip some, but never actually do that. I have only been selling some things I don't have room for.

Pawnshops are supposed to keep records of the person's ID, but who knows .

One pawn shop near home wanted my ID to buy something. Yes, to BUY a few $1 tools. I refused, haven't been back.

I've watched parents pawn their kids Play Station/Xbox while the kids were with them....

Just look at all of the new Stanley Made Craftsman tools that are for sale on eBay. They started popping up left and right over the past several months when Lowe’s was the only retailer. Where are they coming from? And most of them on eBay are for sale by pawn shops.

Seems a lot of people here have outdated views of pawnshops. Around here all of the shops ive been to are overwhelmingly clean, friendly, and well priced. The thing people here dont seem to realize is that outside of tool affectionados like us, peoe dont care about craftsmans change in quality and coo. The stuff sells, and people buy it by the truckload, and subsequently, sell it in times of need.

The ones around me aren't quite that nice, nothing like the one on TV, but they are legit and the absolute best place to get snowblowers in this area. We'll have one or two bad storms one year and everyone runs out to Lowes and buys the biggest machine they can find. Then we go a few years without a major storm and everyone wants them out of their garage.

Same goes for generators. One power outage and everyone prepares to live off the grid. Then realize they have this monster taking up 1/4 of the floor space in their tiny garage and off it goes, with all of 10 hrs on the clock.

I don't see many hand tools, lots of power tools, though.
