I have a 15 yo 1-1/2 ton craftsman jack that I think needs new seals. Fluid full and will not prime or lift at all. Sears shows parts NLA for this model. Any thoughts on where to get seals?
FYI, I have not disassembled yet.

Thanks

Can you post a picture of the jack and the model number?

Have you read Hiball's jack tutorial? Lots of good info on there on rebuilding and you can understand how to source parts.

Based on what you say as the issue, it could be problem with the release valve, main cup, overload valve (doubt it unless someone was in there adjusting).

If it does not do anything at all, it could be a valve ball jammed open by particles of a broken seal. Or maybe even an oil gallery blocked by a seal particle. Also, a completely broken u-cup seal may result in a situation like you describe.

Seals kits are available from Lazzar / HCRCNOW.com and BLACKHAWKPARTS.M for many Craftsman jacks. But it could be cheaper if you take the pump apart, measure the seals and buy them individually instead of buying a kit. Any good hydraulic repair shop should sell them or these can be bought online. A good site to check is THEORINGSTORE.COM

LAZZAR should also sell individual seals, although the prices might be higher.
