Comes up every few months. Marked "BF" and probably made by KTC. My first set of wrenches that I got for my 14th birthday are that style.

I have a set of ten RP Craftsman wrenches (1/4 to 1 inch), made in Japan and marked BF, that were bought new circa 1982-84. One of two sets I got at the time -- the other is probably still in use in my old lab.
For a long time I was disappointed in them not to see Made in USA. Times change, don't they? They still aren't my go-to set, but I gotta admit they're beautifully made.

They show up from time to time. I've got some myself in my truck wrench roll (as that is my mismatched set). The quality is good.

You can also find "Sears" Made in Japan wrenches without the Craftsman label. They are out there from 70's or 80's. I have some box end ones. They have more surface rust than the regular Craftsman USA from that era I have but they work just fine and are high quality other than the finish. I put 'em through some vinegar and salt a while back and plan to just spray paint them when I get a chance and keep using them otherwise. They are not bad tools at all and pretty comparable to the Craftsmans of those eras. - Paul
