Saw this on CL this morning. Looks like it has been refinished.

Craftsman metal lathe 12'
model 101-07403
disc. great condition
comes with extra parts
1- 3 jaw 8" chuck
2- 4 jaw 6" chuck
bits and gears
$ 500.00 OBO

Thoughts on price? Worth it for a home shop? The tool post ive never seen before, looks home made. Not really sure what it is.

While it is not the best, you could do worse. As long as it didn't have a fly by night restoration.

I'm curious as to WTF is going on with that tool post lock? Wrenches welded together?

ya not too sure, is this considered an atlas? Doing a google search, atlas/craftsman seem to be used interchangeably.

Yes, It is an Atlas. Never get hurt at that price if it has no issues other than that goofy wrench thing. Lot of them don't have a quick change gear box, that one does, so that's a good thing.
