I have been very happy with mine. This is about as good as the price gets on these. But I don't need another.

I have one and found that the light isn't as bright as I'd hoped and it runs out of juice faster than I'd expect. During longer sessions in the garage I find myself reaching for my old corded incandescent work light.

I've had one since '07 and it works great, but it recently fell off my garage wall and broke. The other one I bought last year at this price, so I couldn't pass up getting another. I like them greatly, and keep one charging while working with one, so if it does die on me, I've got a backup.

I have had mine for about 4 years now and haven't had any problems with it. But it has started to lose power faster than when I first got it.

I have one of these. Battery life on it sucked after about 1 year.

Other than that, an ok light if you get it on sale, but I don't think I would buy another one - there are better options out there that I think I would be willing to pay a little more for.

This one is 5.00 more, on sale too from 34.00 and it has no 1 star reviews.

Anyone know if this one is better than the one the OP pasted?

I have that one, it was cheaper at the time, and I liked it's smaller size.

It's worked great for about a year, very bright.

Two issues I've found.

1. It's supposed to go from red to green led after charging is complete. Mine has never turned green. I've recharged it after each use, typically plugging it in when I go in at night and unplugging in the morning, it's always red on the charging indicator. This is consistent with the reviews. With that said, I've used it for up to 5-6 hours constantly with no noticeable dimming of the light.

2. It's supposed to be dual brightness...I have not noticed any discernible difference between "I" and "II" on the rocker switch. Again, with that said, it puts out great usable light and has great run time.

I just picked up the version in my previous post. What a piece of ****.

I guess it is Ok if you want light just straight ahead a couple of feet wide. It does not have any spread at all to the light pattern.

Returning.

what are you guys calling bad battery life? 30 minutes, 1 hour, 6 hours? ive always been skeptical of these type of lights. i use my dewalt with an 18v or plug it in the wall. its been pretty rock steady at an hour 15 or hour 20 run time and ive got a ton of hot batteries.

Had one of these, and 3 others purchased at various places. I was about to give up on a rechargeable LED drop light until I found the EZ Red xl3000. It puts out 174 lumens, and is by far the brightest of its kind I've ever used. I've used it continuously for about 8 hours. I believe Tooltopia has them for around $55. Granted much more than the Sears light, but for me (daily use in a shop) well worth the price. One suggestion to anyone who buys one, take out all the screws that hold it together and loctite them, they will fall out and be gone forever.

Amazing the differences of opinion. I'm up to about 4 of the black ones in the first post. Love them all, more than once had them stay stuck to the bottom of a truck or piece of equipment after I was done and they headed down the road never to fall off. I keep mine plugged in whenever I am not using, they last at least an hour but I've never had one go dead on me to know for sure how long until they die. I have a corded version with a finicky switch but all the cordless ones have been great.

For around 20 buck both lights are good but I think the 30 Led stick light is worth the few extra bucks. I've had mine for over a year now and the batt seems to be holding up fine. Its a perfect light for when working away from the bay or taking a quick look at something. Cut the hook off the top and you can work it into anything your working on. I also like the simple on off rocker switch rather than the 35s push button cycle.

Is it a light that is going to put out for hours, no I would say 30 mins plus of bright light before it starts to dim out. It doesn't feel very rugged, I wouldn't be surprised to see it shatter apart when dropped one day. When it does break then I will gladly pick up another one.

battery isn't good, drain fast. I ended up using the magnetic base for my M12 LED Stick Light (check my sig).

Just to confuse the subject, I have several and like them. Mine last at least 60 minutes of continuous use. I guess I've not needed them for longer than that so far. I paid $17.49 for each of mine, and I'm happy.

I totally agree on the EZRed. (you can even pay double for the same light if you prefer it to say Mac Tools). I've heard they will last 12 hours. I've never needed it that long, but have never run out of light.

But for $17, if you get a year out of the Craftsman light it isn't too bad of a deal. If it only lasts an hour though, that wouldn't cut it for me.
