when I bought my craftrsman lock extensions, they weren't holding any of the new craftsman sockets I plugged in. I got frustrated and tossed them aside for a return later on.
They did seem to function correctly. I got a regular extension and plugged it in and wallah! the extension came off and left the socket.
So for whatever reason, I took a close look at the square, and the sides were all solid. NO DIMPLES!
Went and got an older craftsman set, they all had dimples in them. Then I got annoyed and checked the other craftsman sockets I had, the 1/4" drive set I got was missing dimples too.
My older sockets had them. I went back to sears to utilize my lifetime warranty and the supervisor said there was nothing wrong with those sockets and until they are physically broken by wear and tear, there's no warranty at that time. So I said, I can't use my locking extensions because of these defected sockets. And I got the I'm sorry sir routine.
Well those sockets made it to the garage sale, and were quickly scooped up.
I'll never buy the discounted socket sets again without inspecting each and every one first. the 1/4" sockets came with the cordless 1/4" drive ratchet, so for "free" they made it to the garage sale.
Otherwise, all my other sockets work flawlessly with the locking extensions..
