Picked up this CM socket chisel today and saw it was craftsman but was surprised to see the logo was not stamped into the metal. Was this uncommon? Or maybe one of the companies who made these for Sears was on the low end side so no stamp.
Possibly the reason it is an etched logo rather than a stamped logo is that stamping might have disrupted the grain of the metal and caused a premature failure when being used.JMHO
