Craftsman Max Axess Wrenches???

Has anyone else used these?

They are full polish, a little longer than regular wrenches, no lobster claw, and have "Clinch Drive Plus" which seems like a much less aggressive version of flank drive plus.

I've been using them at home (nothing too taxing) and I'm pretty impressed with them. They go on sale every once and a while for $9.99 a set. At $1.11 per wrench, I can't imagine a better deal.

Anyone have any problems with them?

I picked some of those up a while back and have been nothing but pleased with their look and their fit on fasteners. A really incredible deal at 9.99! I think I got mine for just a couple bucks more per set and as previously mentioned, have been very impressed with them.

They are nice looking. Do you find a real benefit to the modified open ends on them. I pretty much have all the "standard" type combos I'd ever need but if these guys could help out in a tight/ confined area, they'd be worth having if I caught them on sale.

I bought a set but I think it was $20. Haven't used them much, but I don't think I'm a fan of the little notch in the open end. Still, you can't beat the price for a polished wrench w/lifetime warranty.

Truth be told, I can't notice any benefit from the "Clinch Drive" notch. But, I'm really impressed with the compact size of the open end and the apparent strength. Again, I haven't had anything too tough, but haven't had any spreading or anything. Seriously, I'm having a hard time justifying spending any more on a "better" set of non-ratcheting wrenches. I know this saying is used too much, but I really think these are much better than their price point (or name) suggests.

I have the sae and mectric sets very nice for getting in to tight areas, I like them alot

The biggest down side is the 9 SAE or Metric wrenches are the only ones they carry. There are no larger sets or open stock. If you want a full set it would be better to look to Gearwrench.

Except the Craftsman versions are made in China, where as the Gearwrench Versions are made in Taiwan. Also, aren't these shorter than the gearwrench long pattern wrenches?

Maybe some of the GearWrench long pattern sets are still made in Taiwan, but I bought the 44 piece set (81919) 8 months ago and they were made in China. Having said that I have nothing negative to say about them.

The Sears are pretty much indistinguishable (well, except for the markings) from those Taiwan long pattern full polish NAPA professional wrenches you can still get at Cripe. I compared those with the matching Craftsman sizes and they sure look to be forged from extremely similar die. It was generally accepted on here that the NAPA wrenches were relabeled Gearwrench.
