These are okay pliers - made in China though. Just in case anyone was on the lookout for them.

I use mine as shelf warmers... But yet, these might be great for friends/family, such as sisters whom spend a lot of money for basically the same tools at craft stores, for beading, but at 3 times the price and without the Cman warranty.

somewhere...
They're chinese, but I've used mine quite a few times now. The extra long tipped ones work ok for pulling snap rings if you don't have a pair of snap ring pliers... plus you can't beat the Craftsman warranty.

These are light duty tools; I've broken the handles and the soft metal jaws have distorted at work just trying to cut some things. If you are doing light duty stuff, you will probably be ok but these are not high quality tools. The problem is, to get a high quality micro style pliers/cutters; there is a big leap in price. Wiha has some really nice ones as does Knipex, Xcelite, and Channellock. In this case you really do get what you pay for; the Craftsman set is cheap!

I have 2 sets of these. One at home and one at work. The ones I have at work use everyday building electronic connectors for audio systems. I wear out the cutters about once a year , mostly they get dull cutting the string and paper braiding and insulation in the cables during prep. I take them to Sears and they give me a new one. If you use these tools as intended they are a very good buy.

$15 too expensive? They have this set for $7.49! The main difference is the handle on these standard pliers compared to the "pro" versions. While the handle is not as comfortable, it will probably not break as easily!

Are the mini slip-joint ignition pliers still available?

I had a pair since I was a kid. They looked like miniature "water pump" pliers.

I let my daughter borrow them for her small engine class a few years ago and never saw them again. :(

i have a set of these at work, I use the cutters almost everyday on zip ties and wires up to 12 AWG and they work fine. The only time I have broken one is when gripped on em real tight trying to cut some real thick wire.

I personally like my S*K/Facom (made in France) set of mini pliers. Top notch... might be available from Harry Epstein.
