I got some help here a few weeks ago on a Delta drill press chuck question now I have a miter saw question.

I own a Craftsman 10" Sliding Compound Miter Saw Model No. 137.212370.

My son dropped the saw while moving it and shattered the 2 piece handle. This is the handle you put your hand inside of and squeeze the on /off trigger to start the saw running and lower into the cut. So the handle you pull down on.

We can find Part no. 2dqd that is the lower portion of this handle but we also need the upper portion of the Handle Part no. 2dqc We have looked everywhere and this piece always comes up NLA. Really hate to buy a complete new saw we don't use it much but do enough that I will not want to be without one. Right now he is waiting to hear back about a possible site that may have one but we are not holding our breath. If anyone has this part or knows how to get one and you have a moment please let us know. Thanks Jeff

searspartsdirect.com -> https://www.searspartsdirect.com/model/4ek8dlyx30-000247/craftsman-137212370-miter-saw-parts -> from here I checked a couple of parts sites and eBay.com via the part and model numbers without success.

Are you sure that you cannot reuse as is or with glue the top that you already have. It looks like the top holds one switch and nothing else. That would be replaced with a board cut with a scroll saw by hand and screwed just like the plastic part.

You might try to just search eBay or other sites for the same saw being sold for parts or just sold used if you are trying to save. Really, pawn shops of a used one may be your best ticket to an affordable solution elsewise.

I bought a Kobalt for $5 with the same problem. Wound up parting it out on Ebay. Some parts are just not going to happen.
