Craftsman Motor, Saved from the Dump.

Thankfully I spied this vintage Craftsman 1/2 HP tool motor in a scrap heap at the local outlaw dump pile. Brought it home, re-cord, blew out minimal saw dust and sprayed some contact cleaner about, gave her a good scotch brite/ wd40 scrubbing, and fired her right up. Runs nice, smooth, and cool.

No use for it at the moment, but happy to "save" it for someone's future usage, maybe even mine.

Great find and rescue, OP!

I found a 1750 RPM 1/2 HP at an estate sale for $5. They gave it to me cheap because the cord was shot and they didn't know if it worked. It replaced a drill press motor of the same speed but 1/3 HP. Insulated the wiring and replaced the cord, and it runs like a top!

The really tough ones to find are the 1HP 1725's. I have one that came with the 18" bandsaw I have, and everything else is 1/2HP. Seen one 3/4, up the river from you at the Tool Salvage place (forget the name).
