Saw some NOS USA sets (944992) tonight at a sears nearby on the shelf for $50.04, I was wondering if you guys think these are worth the coin. The set looks like it was reg. $99. There was also a few of the 9pc 6pt USA wrench sets mixed in with the china mades but were regular price at $29.99.

Get the ratchets. If you need wrenches and want USA made there are no better option than the craftsman for the money. Get the ratchets for sure. I really like them and I have ratchets from snap on, Cornwell and others. These are really nice. The 1/2 feels real heavy but its a good ratchet.

A little more insight, I have a set of USA standard ole craftsman ratchets but after doing some work on my cars recently I found out I need something with a few more teeth to help do certain jobs. I was thinking these and supplementing them with some of the GW 120xp's, they seem to get good reviews here minus the fact they aren't US. I don't want to spend the Uber coin on the snap-ons or the like unless I can find a killer deal on them.

They are good solid ratchets. I've been using mine for 6 or 7 years and have no complaints.

I don't think the 1/2 is too heavy but that's all a matter of opinion I suppose

Looks like I will be going there tomorrow to pick them up. I wish I could afford 2 and hold onto one for my son (Now 2 years old) who will probably never see US made craftsman in stores by the time he takes interest in wrenching..

What Brownsfan said above - $50 is a bargain for that set of Craftsman ratchets. I think I paid that for the 1/2in version alone! Nice find.

That's a good deal. I use those ratchets all the time. I like the big release button and they're easy to maintain. The 1/2" and 3/8" feel good in the hand. The 1/4" is a bit awkward since it's small and the thick middle section makes it feel like a stubby.

Picked the ratchet set up today, Cant wait to use them. I'm glad to be putting another USA made tool in my box. I pulled the 1/2 out of the package and it feels good, not as heavy as I originally thought it'd be. I had to leave the second set there but Im glad I got one. The employee was even shocked at the price and said hes never seen them that low. They had the 12pc 6pt SAE set in USA COO as well but I figured if I was going to upgrade my wrenches right now Id go with the pro line or maybe go with one of the expensive brands.
