I was at Sears today and picked up the 12 piece nut driver set. I got home and started putting them in place, and notice the 7/16 looked like the same size as the 1/2. And the stamping on the 1/2 was out of line. So I looked at it for a minute and notice the shank was the same size of the 7/16. I'm gonna go back to sears tomorrow for a replacement and hope I don't have any problems. But here's some pictures:

The set:

The stamping on the 1/2 inch:

The 1/2 compared to a 7/16:

Has this ever happened to anyone before?

It's never happened to me on a nut driver... but it has on more than one occasion on sockets and once on a screwdriver... They'll take care of it no problems!

I have the nut driver sets from Sears and use them a lot. They are good sets!

Will they exchange the whole set? Or just that one nut driver?

how about a picture from the end of the nut drivers, looking up the shaft of both nut drivers in question?

They will exchange just the one, put the bad one back in a set, put it on the shelf and sell it again. :lol_hitti

If they have open stock they'll just give you a new driver. Occasionally they might rip open another package and scavenge something. It would be a good idea to take the whole set anyway incase exchanging is your only option.

I took the nut driver back today, and they just replaced the whole set.
