My experience has been the opposite, import products = higher quality control. I just recently bought a new plug for my headset, $210 from Bose, the phone jack was inserted at a 20* angle. They sent me a new one but seriously for $210 that stuff should be perfect. The product is US made...

Bose is a running joke in the audio equipment industry and has been for well over 10 years.

I go to a lot of large cars shows across the US, and there are several vendors selling Craftsman tools. All are brand new, for the most part are in sets, however you can purchase sockets and screw drivers individually, and they all appear to have been made in the USA!!

The question I have, where are they getting them from?? As their prices aren't bad!

Wouldn't surprise me if some had picked up truckloads of tools from Sears stores that were closing down.

for them to move manufacturing to china that's almost lowest of the low.....in 10 years it will be made in India and people will be wishing they still had china-man tools. LOL

It's already happening with the HF wrenches, they're made in India now.

In the future it will be more people complaining about tools made in India.

I am done with Sears, Craftsman is just an unintended consequence. had little to do with where the tools are made. has everything to do with complete and utter lack of customer service at every Store I go into. all they can do anymore is sell you a tool.

I will no longer buy tools that are made in china (I admit i may get the chrome max axxes, but I may just get gearwrench) or tools which I feel will soon be made in china (currently wrenches and sockets) I feel that their USA pliers and screwdrivers are still a good deal, but don't know how much longer they will last. I also love the 3pc prybar set that goes on sale for $20, but at that price I'm not hugely concerned about future warranty.

all my CM stuff is USA made,
that being said, i havent bought a CM tool in 4 or 5 years.

last time i was there, local mall store still had open stock CM pull polish USA made combos.

i rarely go near the mall, (it's only 3 miles away), but i'll buy CM if it's something i have to have right now. unfortunately they usally dont have what i need at the time, and "make do" with what i already have.
