Hello,

I have a set of these in 3/8 and 1/2 in both metric and SAE.

I've never used them and wondered if they are any good?

Not sure who manufactured them. APEX? They are old stock USA made sockets.

I got these when I bought a discounted impact set with all shallow and deep sockets and a craftsman pro gun which I gave to my dad for his birthday.

I doubt I'll use them and was curious if they are worth anything.

Any advice would be great.

AFAIK they're made by Apex or an Apex supplier, branded as Craftsman, Armstrong, or Matco. I wouldn't worry about them going Chinese in the future, but I would worry about them being discontinued as Craftsman and losing warranty. I've heard rumors that the shallow Craftsman ones are less shallow than the Matco ones, but never seen it for myself, and have a hard time believing they'd go to that trouble.

I have the Matco 1/4 and 3/8 sets, and I love them. I've had them double-reduced on my 3/4" impact, and the only failure I've had was the snap ring popping out of one... not even while doing the aforementioned act of desperation. Otherwise, they're strong, and smoother than pinned swivels. If you really want to get rid of them, I might be interested in the 1/2" metric and 3/8" SAE sets.

If I sell them I'll probably do it as a set.

I did get that exact set but I did better price than the price you listed.

Happened to come across it as a clearance item in a local store and couldn't pass it up.

It was missing the extensions but I didn't need them.

I haven't quite decided if I want to sell them but if I do I will let you guys know.

The set you bought didn't have the extensions but you don't need them anyhow.

The set has 34 swivels that you don't need.

The set had a gun that you gave to your dad.

It must have been a heck of deal if you bought a set that 3/4 of which you don't need or want.

In the meantime it would be much better if you let me hold those swivels, just for safe keeping. I'll PM you the address to ship them to.

Here are some pictures.
