I just nabbed this craftsman plane for two bucks at the local thrift shop. It’s all there and doesn’t show much use.
Anybody out there know how old this is?

The fact that its still got the sticker on the tote means it has been used very, very little, if at all.

Great price! Those aren't uncommon but it's uncommon to find one with the transfer decal in that good of condition. The best I can come up with is late 1930s through 1940s. I don't know how else to date these except for the "long-c" decal, which was used during that time.

Funny thing was, it had a $10 dollar sticker and the $2.00 dollar sticker.
Showed the lady the $2 days side and gave her two ones. She said thanks and I was on my way

+1 on Brian's date range and I agree, very little use on that one. Those water slide decals wouldn't have stood up long under a sweaty hand. Great find. Also +1 on going back and giving the lady her 8 bucks. Still a great deal and a good way to build rapport with a seller that might get in other good pieces in the future and treat you right on them.

A guy once gave me a great deal on a #26 Stanley plane, $5 I think. Well as I wandered around the flea I was at it got me thinking. So I finally went back and said "Hey, I don't think you charged me enough for this plane." Well, he agreed, but he wanted to stick with the price that was on there, and was just happy that I came back. Made his day.

It is up to you, going back.
