Anyone know the rattle can match to the old Craftsman power bronze color? I need the name and number of it please. Thanks in advance.

There is no exact match that satisfies my OCD.
But other members have used -

Krylon Brushed Metallic Satin Caramel Latte #51250
XO-Rust Bronze #XOP-35
Rustolium Hammered Gold #7210

I have all three, and have done samples. But I've been too chicken to pick one yet. I've been leaning toward the Krylon, but it's a little flat looking. Maybe I need to try it with a clearcoat over it ?

I wonder if Valspar has anything that might be in the running ?

I actually think that the Rustoleum is the closest color match, but the hammered finish kills it for the final look.

The XO-Rust is a nice rich color, bit it's too bronze to be a match.

The Krylon is a good color, but is a little lighter than the original to my eye and the metallic satin finish leaves it a bit off.

I think I'm going to use the rustolium, I am going to use to paint this box.

Now my only question is to paint the drawers red or paint it solid bronze?

Yeah, if you want exact match the hammered look kills it but I used it on my lathe and love it. I used different color hammered paint on other machines too though so it ties them all together.

Being that box is already hammer finished, I would do hammered gold personally. :dunno:

Since you're changing the color -
Hammered Gold for the box. Metallic Red for the drawers and inner tray. It'll pop.

XO-Rust Bronze #XOP-35 is what I used.

I agonized over it for a while and finally decided that whatever color I used, it's going to look very different depending on the lighting (dark garage vs lighted shop vs outside), so pretty close is good enough.
