Over the years I have purchased a lot of Craftsman battery operated tools that use the 19.2 volt batteries. I am concerned about the availability of replacement batteries as Sears continues to close stores. Will Lowes stock the 19.2 batteries? Does someone else make a replacement battery?

Amazon has a ton of factory and off shore batteries. I just replaced my NiCads with 3 factory batteries and a charger. I also made sure my sister got the right 1/4 impact/drill set with 2 more batteries and a charger. I'm going to get a few of the knock off "hicap" batteries to try.

I think batteries are going to be available for a decent amount of time at least online. Another decent place to check is ace hardware I think they sell c3 stuff.

Interstate Battery stores have always carried (or could get) just about any battery I've asked them about.

And Interstate will rebuild dead battery packs at very reasonable prices.

Batteries + rebuilds, too, as well as online places. If it is something that just uses a few of the almost universal size sub C cells, I rebuild them myself. There are endless sources for them. I am no authority on Craftsman tools but from what I recall their NiCds were pretty low capacity, like 1300mah. They can be rebuilt with 2000mah cells for much better run time.

As previously mentioned there are options - One being -

At Batteries Plus Bulbs, we want to make sure the battery in your Craftsman tool has the power to finish the project. We offer original brand batteries for popular cordless drills, impact drivers, saws, screw guns and more along with our own line of replacement cordless tool batteries that are built to meet or surpass OEM specifications.

Have a unique, older model with a nonexistent battery solution? Not a problem. Batteries Plus Bulbs specializes in rebuilding older model power tool batteries right in our stores.
