I just bought a craftsman professional 4.5" vise for $58.01! It's in this week's local ad for $94.95, -15% online discount, - sears2012 $5 off $50 coupon, - $17.04 worth of (free doubled) rewards = $62.92 with tax and free store pick up.

Unfortunately, sears ***** and it was a major hassle just to get it. I had to place two orders, and spend over an hour on the phone. On my first order it said my local sears had one in stock. However, On my way to go pick it up I get an email saying my order had been canceled because they where "out of stock." I go to sears anyway and sure enough, they have 2 on the shelf...... The store manager refuses to sell me one for the price I paid online and says I will have to do it online with store pick up if I want one for that price. He was a real jerk.

SO I make the 45min drive back home to order it again. This time it shows up as out of stock online even though they have 2 in the store.
I call customer service and they where no help and just barley spoke English. They basically tell me to go to the store and buy one at full price.

So, I call the store and ask them if I purchase it again online with the 8-10 day in store pick up, if they would give me one of the one's they have in stock....... I get a big fat NO.

Even with all this BS, the price was too good to pass up, so I purchased another one with the 8-10 day in store delivery. However, Sears failed to refund my rewards points, and that meant another very long, broken English conversation with customer service.

But it's finely done! I got the vise for $63! And even though Ive got to wait 3 business days for them to refund me my money from the first purchase, and Ive got to wait 8-10 days for delivery on something that is in stock, it's still worth it.......

Now that the rant is done, anyone know where I can get smooth and/or rubber jaws for this vise?

That's a great deal! Showing up $115 right now unfortunately. I've been searching for an old US one but I would've bought it for that as well. Even used on ebay the old style Craftsman vises are going for that or more with shipping.

I've read those are really good vises.

I'm curious how you got the $94 price, when did the sale end? I'm in Raleigh

Northern's a little on the pricey side.

All the ******** you went through was worth it. They're good vises. Just take it apart and clean/lube it. They're known to have some metal shavings inside the vise.

It's in their sales circular. Go to sears.com and go to "local ad" in the top left. It may not show up for your zip code. I checked to see if it was in stock in concord nc and it was not in their local ad. But it is in the Winston ad for $94.95, then the website gives you 15% off that. You got to click on the vise in the ad for the price to show up.

I plan to. I read the thread about it a few weeks ago. I also plan to powder coat it (red). The red paint it comes with is just sad. I already ordered the red powder. Hopefully I can get the craftsman pro tag off the side, without damage.

Just now I clicked on "Local Ad", checked under "Tools", and this vise is listed at $74.85 as in "In-store offer only..." Available in 10-12 days at my local store.

I've been checking on this vise every day as I have been planning on buying one when it dipped below $100. I guess now is the time.

Thanks for the heads-up on this.

That ***** it's not in my area, that is kinda ****** on Sears. I probably would've bought it too if I could've gotten it for $75 like the above post.

I just ordered ONE of these vises. Bottom line: $67.12!

Unfortunately, it took me FOREVER to get my order through. A few times after I got to Checkout and clicked on "Place Order", the system errored out and I was forced to start all over again.

After the umpteenth attempt (OK, perhaps that's a slight exaggeration.) I called the 1-800 number. My Sears contact, Summer, wasn't any help with my problem. Worse, she couldn't place the order for me and get the "Local Ad" price. Aaargh!

Finally decided that I should go to the store and place the order there. Which I will do tomorrow. Or NOT...

Just checked my email and found that I ordered TWO vises. Yeah, even though the system kept taking a ****, two of my orders were processed. HUH? So, now I'll have to cancel one of them. Or, with my luck, and considering how many times I got kicked out, the half-dozen or so other vises that I may be on the hook for.

But then, for $67.12 I shouldn't complain. Still, it's fun.
