Craftsman Pro wrench sets

I was looking at the craftsman pro wrech sets (13 pc USA) and they have them on some rediculas board rack that would take up the entire drawer of a 26 inch wide tool box. Why not just pack them in a tightly wrapped neat rack? I/m shocked I haven't seen some ricer make a wing for the back of their civic out of one of those things. I've got to buy a few sets before they go china.

The GW sets in the trays [x-beams] are the worst i've seen for wasting space.

If you want to just use your own wrench racks i'd suggest buying the 26pc set online and saving some money.

I agree with you about the trays, I am contimplating throwing them away, but right now I just re-organized a bit and they fit in the 26" drawer rather nicely. Not sure what I will do when I buy that other set.. maybe another roller cab.

You can return/exchange anything bought from Sears.com at any Sears store (excepting the privately owned "Hometown Stores"). If they can't put them back on the shelf (because they're online-only items), they'll just mark 'em down for clearance and somebody else will get them for cheap.

rest assured they're all domestic. The new sets do not say Professional so i'd question how they could market them as such even if they began to take over [which they havent...yet].

a lot of sets stop at 19mm, if you want something more complete go with the old style raised panel . 43pc set, made in the US, for the same price as that 26pc pro set.

For fk's sake, just buy the set... it's made in the USA, the quality is right up there w/ anything w/o the premium price, comes w/ trays (if that is your thing)... return em if you don't like em.

Sears.com still shows the made in USA packaging for the flare wrenches that have been MIC for quite a while.

I ordered the 2 on-sale wrench sets this morning. If they are MIC they are going back to the store. If USA, I got a great deal.

The ones in my local Sears are definitely USA, as are the ones in my toolbox. Since Craftsman is outsourcing the Professional line to China, perhaps eventually when all these sets are sold out, they will contain Chinese wrenches, but for now they are still USA.

The flipside of these wrenches are stamped "Craftsman Professional" so yes same wrenches different packaging.

the USA pro wrenches now in store stock are probably the last existing. About a month ago my local store had a few sets of metric USA pro wrenches and they are now gone and it's all chinese. I wouldn't buy the pro combo wrenches from sears.com and expect to get USA

I just ordered them with store pickup. I'll probably stop by Sears on the way home to pick them up and compare them with the Craftsman Pro sets and see which if any are made in the US. If they turn out to be made in China I won't be bringing them home. Not that I have a beef with things made in China but I'll get the same thing from HF for half the price if my search for those made in the US comes up empty.

I picked up the 10 piece larger set tonight in the store, Made in USA, so now my set is "complete". I also used the $10 off coupon that came with my Craftsman Club flyer so $80.99 out the door.

After an evening comparing the USA made Craftsman Pros to CM raised panels, various Gearwrench sets, and multiple HF Pittsburgh sets, I ended up buying multiple sets of the USA made Craftsman Pros. Since they still had the USA made sets I bought a few extras.

Let me know if you or someone you know wants some. If not they'll make great holiday gifts. I'll also probably be posting my CM raised panels for sale or giving them away to friends.

Which Craftsman Pros did you buy? Were they the 13-piece sets? I ended up returning the 18-piece set I bought 2 months ago and re-purchased it for the sale price of $64.99, plus the new 10-piece large set for $80.99 as such I am only into this set for $145.98. Not bad for 28 USA made wrenches.

I bought an 18 piece set and (4) 13 piece sets (2 each SAE and metric). I especially wanted the smaller metric wrenches which the 18 piece doesn't include.

I'll only be keeping 2 of the 13 piece sets (1 each SAE/metric) for myself.

With the people posting about the huge difference in quality, I bought the extras thinking there were folks here who have only the China made stuff at their Sears who might want them. Not looking to make a profit.

If no one here has interest I'll probably return them this weekend.

Maybe I should post this in the classifieds.

The setup you got is great, especially for that price!

I had to decide between the 18 plus 10 piece combo or the two 13 piece sets and chose the latter because I use small wrenches a lot and very rarely use anything over 1". Also I already have CM raised panels in large sizes if I ever do need them.

She walked down the wrench isle and found the set. It was in a box and not like the trays like the 5 peice sets. Must have been a return they were blowing out. I was happy about those. I have the same sets in Snap-On and can hardly tell them apart.

I have the 5 piece USA set which I believe I bought on sale from Sears for around $38 something a few years back. I immediately regretted not purchasing the same set you got now as soon as I saw and touched the wrenches ( when these arrived to me after a month's overseas shipping time ). A very good and pretty deep offset double box kit.

She is a keeper MRHOLESHOT, my GF could not tell you the difference between a hammer and a screwdriver, let alone call me to tell me she found some wrenches on sale.

The Sears by me has the new full polish 'craftsman' wrenches right next to the USA made craftsman professional wrenches and they're set at different price points. I tell you what, all this tinkering with products lines is really screwing with my head. The sales guy I spoke to didn't know about phasing the professional series out, but I can't imagine anything hurting the pro line more than putting an almost identical looking wrench right next to it for cheaper.

If I knew for certain that the offsets were made in USA and that those hadn't been replaced by cheap Chinese made ones, I'd order them the next time they went on sale in a heartbeat. The 5 piece sets I saw the last time I looked at them in Sears they were all USA, anyone seen made in China offsets yet?

I was in Sears today and I managed to buy the 7mm, 8mm and 9mm USA wrenches, unfortunately I saw the offsets and noticed there were two types of packages, the black and red newer style clearly stated "Made in China" the older yellow and black style boxes are the ones "Made in the USA".

My sears has them, err HAD them, set at the same price for the china vs. USA sets... all the USA sets are gone now, as are the open stock USA Pro wrenches... all China polished now...

I just went to sears yesterday and they had both USA sets in metric and sae. Prior to this visit they've only had SAE in stock. Both are priced at $99.

Yeah I'm hanging onto her. She knows how to set the lift on anything, get me in the groove at the dragstrip, adjust my tire pressure and video my launchs to check wheel spin. Now if I could get her behind the wheel. She will race her car but it's just a 12 sec Mustang.
