To start, I am in no way a professional and just work on my stuff at home. I am in the market for a 4 ton jack and I was wondering if these craftsman professional jacks are decent for the money. The 4 ton jack is on sale for $120. I have looked in the used market and there is nothing in the way of quality used equipment here in South Florida home of the cheap disposable tools. Down here we don't get the goodies you guys find up north. Is there another comparable jack for less money or something better for a little more? I don't know much on the subject and would greatly appreciate any help.

They are not bad (I had the 3 ton) for the money. I liked mine until I let rust solid. The only other option is going onto eby and finding a used one from the 30-50's and paying for the shipping etc. Then you run the risk of the seals being old and leaking.

I have one and it is just ok. My main gripe is that the pump sort of stops some time at almost full extension. If it stops working I am upgrading.
